WALLA WALLA — Blue Mountain Heart to Heart announced Thursday the agency received a $3,500 grant to continue its outreach efforts for Latino and rural residents living with HIV, AIDS and hepatitis C.
The nonprofit agency has offered case management and prevention education in the Walla Walla Valley since 1991.
The grant comes from the Pride Foundation, a Northwest organization that brings together people, ideas and resources together to create change that advances equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community.
“We are so grateful for the continued support of the Pride Foundation,” said Everett Maroon, director of Blue Mountain Heart to Heart.
“Local and regional funding from organizations like Pride is especially gratifying because it shows the strength of our own philanthropy and charitable network. We are excited to continue our testing and education work for these communities.”
Blue Mountain Heart to Heart serves clients in Walla Walla, Benton Franklin, Columbia and Umatilla counties.
