Special limited viewing of 'Autumn Screens and Japanese Sake Bottles and Cups' is planned

WALLA WALLA -- "Autumn Screens and Japanese Sake Bottles and Cups" is a special limited viewing of a display of sake bottles and cups from the Ikune Sawada Collection and Sotatsu's 17th century "Autumn Screen" from the Whitman College Davis Collection, at the Whitman College Asian Arts Gallery, which will open 2-5 p.m., Sunday, in the Whitman College Tea Room, Olin East Room 110.

The exhibit will be also be open for viewing 2-5 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 16 and 2:30-5 p.m. Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14.

To arrange visits Monday and Wednesday afternoons at 4 p.m., email Professor Akira Takemoto at takemoto@whitman.edu. A talk on the antique sake bottles and cups from the Sawada Collection and a short tea demonstration will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 2. Contact Professor Takemoto for reservations.
