Thefts, Burglaries

WW County Sheriff

  • 100 block of Winemaker Lane. Vehicle prowl reported in gated community; prescription sunglasses reported stolen.
  • 1000 block of Preston Avenue, Waitsburg. Zoom lens valued at $1,000 reported stolen from vehicle.
  • First Christian Church, 604 Main St., Waitsburg. Forced entry burglary reported: guitar reported stolen.

CP Police

  • 1700 block of South College Avenue. Cell phone reported stolen.
  • 000 block of South East Larch Avenue. Blank checks stolen: forgery reported.
  • 100 block of Southeast Sunny Drive. Bicycle reported stolen: suspects unknown apparently left a replacement bike in exchange.

Collisions

WW County Sheriff

  • Highway 124 near milepost 26, 1:01 a.m.this morning. A semi-truck driver was issued a citation for second-degree negligent driving and hit and run when officers determined he was too tired to safely operate a vehicle. Police were alerted to the drowsy driver when another motorist reported the driver struck a road barrier.

WW Police

  • Clarence G. Gunter, 31, 802 N. Eighth Ave., Monday. Charge: investigation of felony violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.

Vandalism

WW County Sheriff

  • 1500 block of Shelton Road. Report of two tires slashed and a window broken on a 1963 Volkswagen van.

MF Police

  • Fifth Avenue and Lamb Street. Graffiti on street sign.

Umatilla County Sheriff

  • March Road, Milton-Freewater. Vehicle keyed.
  • Henriksen Road, Helix. 180 gallons of stove oil reported stolen.
