Walla Walla Carpet One is making a move from downtown Walla Walla to Rose Street.

The store that specializes in flooring, countertops, window coverings and professional interior design services is moving to 1611 Rose St., the former site of appliance and electronics retailer Rex.

The move from 527 E. Main St., where the Tri-Cities-based business known under the name Benjamin’s is owned by Ron and Maddie Thornhill, started Tuesday

The new space, purchased by the owners, is four times bigger than the current location and will allow in-stock inventory at the store for the first time, said employee Dan Brendel.

A team of more than 25 people were on hand to help with the transition. The Walla Walla store has three employees. According to its Facebook page, hours of operation are 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
