Veterans are appreciated

On behalf of the Walla Walla High School Junior ROTC Blue Devil Battalion and the Associated Student Body, I would like to express my appreciation to all the veterans and their families who were able to attend our Veterans Day Assembly.

It was our privilege to honor those who have served our country and ensured the safety of our great nation. I would also like to praise the local retirement homes for assisting their resident veterans in attending. It was a pleasure for the students to become acquainted with the veterans at the reception that followed. This served as a reminder of the dedication and selflessness of those who serve and have served in the military throughout our history.

On Nov. 10, Super 1 Foods hosted a meet-and-greet fundraiser where members of our competitive special teams met Wa-Hi ROTC alumni, supporters, veterans and many other members of the community. It was our pleasure to connect with you. Your contributions to our program are greatly appreciated and will aid us with our travel expenses to regional and national competitions.

Once again we appreciate your support. Rest assured that our cadets are diligently working to uphold our standards and traditions of our men and women in uniform.

We wish you happy holiday season.

Cadet Lt. Col. John Gossett,

battalion commander
