Volunteers sought for Walla Walla River cleanup Saturday

MILTON-FREEWATER — The Walla Walla Basin Watershed Council will sponsor a clean-up activity along the Walla Walla River Saturday.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. adjacent to Marie Dorian Park south of Milton-Freewater. Volunteers will be provided lunch from Sub Shop #38.

“This is a family-friendly event, with opportunities for all ages to participate in a community enhancement project,” Graham Banks, council science educator said in a release.

Participants are encouraged to wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and gloves. Interested people are asked to RSVP to Graham at (509)386-3509.
