Toy store has inside track to entice shoppers

A new rail system has legs at downtown Walla Walla toy store Inland Octopus.

Store owner Bob Catsiff debuted his new Octopus Light Rail on Monday. The HO gauge model railroad display features the Great Northern Empire Builder, two Union Pacific freight trains and a city trolley, all of which run simultaneously, Catsiff said in an announcement.

The Octopus Light Rail includes more than 3 scale miles of track with service from the 1870s to the 1950s. He’s planning to add another line to run on a wooden trestle 105 scale feet in height.

To see the new train in person, visit the shop at 7 E. Main St. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. For more details, call 526-0115 or drop a line electronically at
