Warrior men third, women fourth in Centralia


CENTRALIA, Wash. — Walla Walla Community College’s men finished third at the NWAACC men’s invitational golf tournament at Riverside Golf Course here Monday.

The Warrior women came in fourth.

Mike Ciez shot a 78 to lead WWCC with a two-round 150 for fifth place. Cole Sajonia finished three strokes back of Ciez after a second-round 75 to tie for 10th.

Ryan O’Mera’s 163 and Seb Moab’s 167 rounded out the men’s scoring.

“The putting greens were the purest I’ve seen anywhere this year!” WWCC coach Mike Rostollan said. “Our highlights were Mike Ciez and Cole Sajonia finishing in the top 10 and Sierra James’ runner-up on the women’s side.”

James led the WWCC women’s effort with a second-round 90 to finish at 183. She was joined by Kelsey Sage at 194 and Stephanie Bullock 210 as the women finished fourth.

The Warriors host a tournament at Wine Valley Oct. 14-15, and travel to Southwest Oregon at the end of October.
