OATH: Superintendent Mick Miller swore in new board member Ruth Ladderud.
SKILLS: Agreed to reject low bid for Skills Center construction because it came in $1 million over budget. The district will reapply to OSPI for the project, have architects redesign the center with less square footage, and go out for bids again in January. Unanimous.
CHARTER: Approved a resolution voicing their opposition to initiative 1240 to establish charter schools in the state. Unanimous.
MICROSOFT: Wa-Hi student Madeline Brooks was presented with a $1,000 prize from Microsoft during meeting.
