Waitsburg-Prescott falls in four to Asotin

ASOTIN — Waitsburg-Prescott continued its hunt for a Southeast 2B League volleyball victory here Tuesday, but left with a 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 25-19 loss to the Asotin Panthers.

Rhiannon Chapman had 14 digs in the match for W-P, and Crystal Harris recorded 19 kills and 17 digs.

Samantha Fedderson came up with five kills, 21 digs and three aces, and Jaidyn Brown dished out 17 assists.

“We played better than we have been playing, as far as teamwork,” W-P coach Angie Potts said. “We stay even with teams until 13, 14, 15 points and they make a run on us. We have trouble recovering from that, and we have to stop that from happening and build our run to build a lead.

“We just have to find a way to put a whole game together and push through to the end,” she said.

W-P, now 0-4 in league play and 4-7 overall, hosts DeSales at 6 p.m. Thursday.

“Even though we haven’t won a league match, I think we’re still as competitive as anybody in the league,” Potts said. “We just need to push through to the end of the match.”
