Merchants and a musician are making ready for the latest round of Fridays on First.
More than 20 merchants will set up shop in a farmers-market-style arrangement on First Avenue between Main and Alder streets Friday for an after-hours retail and entertainment event.
The street will be closed to traffic from 3 to 10 p.m. The event — a block party/street festival — will run 5 to 9 p.m., along with participating brick-and-mortar businesses along that stretch of First.
The various booths promise an array of products from handmade soaps to beef jerky, holiday items to artwork. Discounts will be offered at many businesses.
Musician Dave Barber will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. As with the previous Fridays on First, the event will take place in tandem with the First Friday ArtWalk. Plumb Cellars, 9 S. First Ave., will participate in both events and will display art from the private collection of Walla Wallan David March at its tasting room. Maps for ArtWalk sites are available at the Destination Walla Walla booth next to Starbucks or at the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation office.
