Officials will get no argument from me on their choice of making Rose Street the first street improvement project. And I agree the additional $200,000 of taxpayer money is a good idea.
What I do have a problem with is spending 25 percent of the $200,000 for a study on how the project should be done. Shouldn't this be known already? For Pete's sake, why does every project in Walla Walla require a costly study?
In my opinion, taxpayers are once again being short-changed. Funds which should go to street improvement are being spent on yet another study.

I totally agree - what do they have hired in the street crew - I would think that the upper echelon has the knowledge how to take care of these situations or better replace the whole department. If there not qualified they sure get paid a lot of money for nothing!
