MILTON-FREEWATER — The Milton-Freewater Municipal Golf Course will be closed for the day Friday, according to M-F pro George Gillette.
The golf course will be the site of Mac-Hi’s annual Gut-Buster cross country meet.
“Golf balls and runners just don’t mix,” Gillette said, noting that more than 300 high school and middle school runners have been entered in the Gut-Buster.
“The first race is scheduled for 1 p.m., and race officials want to be on the course by 11 a.m.,” Gillette said. “We just thought it was prudent to shut the golf course down for a day.”
