Small errors add up in Touchet volleyball loss

TOUCHET — Small errors added up to a three-set loss for Touchet Thursday night in Southeast 1B volleyball against league rival Colton.

Touchet (1-4 SE1B, 2-8) fell 25-15, 25-9 and 25-18.

“Our small errors added up,” Touchet coach April Miller said. “We couldn’t get transitioned to offense enough. We spent too much time trying to catch up from the last play.”

Despite the lopsided scores, Miller felt the match was a learning experience.

“Colton put a double block up for our freshman middles, and it’s good for them to see different defenses and learn to work their weaknesses,” Miller said. It’s such a big learning year.”

Touchet’s CierraJo McKeown slammed 14 kills, Morgan Downing set up 20 assists and Rachel Miller had five blocks.

The Indians face Southeast 1B Walla Walla Valley Academy Monday in College Place.
