WALLA WALLA — Whitman College will host a special political speaker series featuring veteran political commentators David Brooks and Ray Suarez.
From their perspectives, they will address key issues of the upcoming election, including the economy, domestic policy and the relationship between politics and religion in America. Each speaker represents a different point on the political spectrum.
Brooks, a political analyst best known for his op-eds in The New York Times, will present at 7 p.m. Monday in Cordiner Hall.
Suarez is a veteran broadcast journalist and senior correspondent for The NewsHour on PBS. He will speak at 5 p.m. Oct. 23 in Maxey Auditorium.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Whitman politics professors Paul Apostolidis and Shampa Biswas will serve as moderators, and both lectures will be followed by Q&A and book-signing sessions.
