Why on Earth is Obama president

Delores Walker had difficulty recognizing "the man who debated President Obama." She wonders if anyone else had the same problem. Sure would be helpful if people would pay attention to the facts, instead of the fantasies slathered on the gullible.

Walker seems to think Romney has always been stern and unyielding. I think it's more a case of a man who's serious about not compromising his values and beliefs.

The liberal media portrays Mitt Romney as a self-serving rich guy. Bilge water accusations come from a bunch of self-important pretender reporters and commentators who have no honesty. They apparently never learned the basics of journalism, or don't care to remember them. Unfortunately, they've succeeded in hoodwinking the wide-eyed, "We're off to see the Wizard" Obama faithful.

Remember the story of "The Wizard of Oz?" Dorothy and her friends were told the Wizard was all-powerful and all- knowing, and could do wondrous things. But they found out the Wizard was actually a bumbling guy behind a curtain, using special effects to make himself appear wise and awesome. He was well-meaning, but he used deceptive methods.

Sounds like Obama to me, although I'm not convinced he's well-meaning. Obama uses accommodating speech writers and Teleprompters. He blatantly uses prevarications, trying to disguise them as truth. The adoring, Obama-worshiping press never confronts him with the challenging questions. His deceptions get a pass. His dangerous policies are hailed as heroic. Broken promises are explained away with Obama's plea that he just needs more time.

With all the coddling, Obama figures he needs only his so-called charisma to camouflage his weak leadership. Well, Mitt Romney did what the spineless media is afraid to do. Romney put Obama on the spot by exposing the hogwash being passed off as sound policies.

Walker says Romney "must think the president has the power of a dictator." Interesting. Obama's been acting like a dictator for the past four years. How can anyone think Obama's been "humbled by the reality of presidential constraints?" Constraints mean little to this one-man show. A person who's arrogant isn't humble.

Obama accuses Romney of lying. He says America's president should tell the truth. Thus, the question: Why on Earth is Barack Obama president?

Roberta, Roberta...there you go again, my dear! You have good, debatable ideas but you present then in such an agrieved, bitter way that takes away the clarity of your point and turns it into an arrow right into the heart of the self esteem and the dignity of good people. I refuse to believe that your way is representative of the "republican" way. Many of us democrats talk to some of our republican friends in an animated, inteligent way, but with respect for each other ideas. You come across as a reasonably inteligent person who can do better.

Using the term liar all the time does not encourage reasonable discourse.

I think she's so focused on what's wrong in Her mind that she can't see what's good or right in the world... She asks why Obama is president...Duhhh Roberta...He was elected!!!we the people of the United States, saw hope in him, and you really never know until you try, if things will work or not.And you need to keep your bitter opinions to yourself,we are sick to death of them!

Way to go Roberta - as usual right on target and this liberal progressive Administration had everybody believing in Hope and Change but were not expecting changing to Socialism!

And we're NOT! You name callers can't even decide what to classify Obama as, but all this talk of Communism/Marxism/Socialism from the RED Party has me rolling in the aisles. Some day you folks will wake up, well now that's a pipe dream, haters never wake up, they just keep their same BS flowing, figuring the more they repeat it, the truer it becomes. News Flash-A lie is a lie is a lie no matter how many times you repeat it, no matter how loud you shout it. As one commentator stated, you can disagree and debate quite eloquently, or you can hurl your insults, resort to name calling, and run with the chicken little 'the sky is falling' nonsense. One method entails being an adult, the other a raving idiot stuck high school (or earlier) days.

Obama said he would tax the rich to Joe the plumber in 2008, Americans gave him the White House, and both the House and the Senate in 2009 and 2010. He did not raise taxes on the rich. A lie, is a lie is a lie. Right now there is a presidential debate going on, each candidate is spitting out lie after lie. Get use to it America. You have allowed politicians to get away with lying so much that it's become the norm. If a candidate does not lie and promise you everything you won't elect them.

If you want to see a lie after lie after lie after lie you've been listening to this current Adminstration who can't even figure out why our Ambassador and 4 security persons were killed from lack of backup. It's hard to believe some of the talking points that just keep on coming. Remember: A nation of Sheep breeds a government of Wolves! Obviously the sheep are baaaaaing and it's not the likes of Roberta.

I would like to know why the UB allows such frequent and opinionated, hateful letters from Ms Bardsley???

1

glasater 1 year, 6 months ago

Can anyone imagine the outrage coming from the UB against actual on-line tweets documented in this link: http://www.infowars.com/threats-to-assassinate-romney-explode-after-debate/ The Editorial Board sure came forward with outrage against the Tea Party after April '09 excoriating the group for the 'supposed' anger. Let us see if there is equal treatment for these liberal whack jobs.

Sooooo. I look at this election in a simple way... Obama did not complete what he promised to do when he took office. He said that if he didn't get it done we should vote him out. I voted for Obama 4 years ago. Now I'm voting for someone else who I hope will follow through with his plan. We need to get the budget under control and create jobs. PERIOD! That is all...
