RICHLAND — Entering the final Mid-Columbia Conference volleyball match of the regular season on Thursday, Wa-Hi knows it controls where the first round of the district tournament will be played.
If the Blue Devils defeat Kennewick on the Lions’ court on Thursday night, Wa-Hi hosts Pasco Oct. 25.
If they lose, they head to Pasco the same night.
“The one time we won we beat Pasco at home,” Wa-Hi assistant Kim McDaniels said. “It would be nice to be at home.”
Tuesday night, the Blue Devils dropped to 1-12 in MCC play, 2-12 overall, with a three-set loss at Richland.
The Bombers won 25-15, 25-16, 25-17.
Madi Doepker and Reece Carman both had four kills for Wa-Hi in the match, with Kassidy Willard picking up five digs and Katie Greene five assists.
“Richland is a tough team,” McDaniels said. “All they did was tip against us, which is what we’ve been working on. We’ve been struggling on our tip coverage, so it’s a tough loss.
“They didn’t hit hard at us, they just tipped.”
Wa-Hi heads to Kennewick at 7 p.m. Thursday.
