ATHENA — Weston-McEwen showed no signs of slowing its pace in running through the Blue Mountain Conference schedule with a three-set victory over visiting Enterprise Thursday, 25-14, 25-16 and 25-20.
“Enterprise is one of those really athletic teams, and they forced us to play scome defense,” TigerScot coach Shawn White said. “They hit the ball well. I was pleased with how we played defense — it was our homecoming. We hit well and just stayed on them.”
The TigerScots (13-0 BMC, 20-3) are ranked No. 4 in Oregon’s RPI rankings and have won 15 consecutive matches.
Taryn Coffman ran the Weston-McEwen offense with 23 assists and two aces.
Molly von Borstel had 10 kills and three assists; McKayla Carlin 17 digs, two aces; Lacey Kuehn two kills; Keegan Shepard four kills and a block; Marlene Bodmer four kills; Melanie Sederburg six kills; Dannie Dearing five digs, two aces; Maddy Carlin five digs; Melina Baker went five-for-five in service; and Natilie Arnold scored six digs.
Weston-McEwen has four matches remaining, including a match against Class 5A fifth-ranked Pendleton Thursday.
The TigerScots visit Pilot Rock Saturday for matches against the Rockets and Heppner beginning approximately at 1 p.m.
