Blue Devils uncork 4 goals in league soccer win over Kennewick

KENNEWICK — Brigit Lyons scored a goal and contributed an assist in the Blue Devils’ 4-1 Mid-Columbia Conference win over the Kennewick Lions Saturday.

Brittany Gibbar opened scoring for the Blue Devils in the ninth minute on an assist from Lyons.

Lyons scored in the 19th on an unassisted goal to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead.

The Lions cut the deficit in half on a penalty kick goal by Megan Young just one minute after Lyons’ score.

Allie Greene scored in the 38th minute for Wa-Hi to push the lead to 3-1.

Mari Arceo scored with a minute gone in the second half on an assist from Anna Rodriguez.

“We played well and like a team,” Wa-Hi coach Jesse Cruz said. “We also won today because we finished better on our shots. We have been playing well all season.”

Wa-Hi (3-11) plays Tuesday in the first round of district playoffs in Pasco at 6 p.m.
