The owners of Tom's Cycle & Power Products have sold their business to a familiar face for those with a penchant for power equipment.

Tom and Paula Shelton are retiring after 35 years, according to an announcement. They are selling the business -- reportedly Walla Walla's longest continually operating motorsports outfit -- to businessman Michael McClure.

Many will recognize McClure as a former co-owner and general manager of the Tumac group of companies, which had the local John Deere dealership that was sold earlier this year to Papé Group.

Tom's Cycle, 1744 Portland Ave., supplies motorcycles, ATVs, scooters, Club Car golf carts and Honda power equipment.

Its customers range from motorsports enthusiasts and ranchers to landscapers and homeowners.

Services include repairs on many motorcycle brands, including Harley Davidson, Honda, BMW and more. Services are also available for lawn mowers and golf carts.

McClure reportedly plans to expand the inventory and maintain the service department as part of the ownership changeover. Karl Streufert will continue his three-decade career of motorcycle and power equipment repair. Corey Quinlan joins the team with experience in motor-sports parts and service.

Tom's Cycle operates Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more details call 529-0411.
