PASCO — Three days after clinching the NWAACC East Division championship, the program’s second in succession and fourth in the last five seasons, Walla Walla Community College traveled here Saturday afternoon and settled for a 1-1 tie with second-place Columbia Basin.
Ivan Chamorro scored the Warriors’ only goal of the match. It came 10 minutes into the second half and gave WWCC a 1-0 edge.
Walla Walla, No. 3 in the latest NWAACC coaches poll, now stands at 8-1-3 in league and 13-1-3 overall.
“It was a sluggish performance,” WWCC coach Chad Bodnar said. “We didn’t defend. But it doesn’t hurt us. We got through the match healthy. We got to rest some guys that had some knocks. We got that done (Saturday).”
The Warriors end the regular season this Saturday when it hosts Wenatchee Valley at 2:15 p.m.
