McKenna will hurt care for seniors

For the past two years, I have been a caregiver for my sister-in-law, who suffers from Osteigenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone, as well as Basilar Invagination). Both are degenerative diseases. Both, by very definition, mean she will never get better. Yet the state has cut her hours of service by one third, over the past two years.

I'm afraid if Rob McKenna is elected the cuts will continue until she is institutionalized, costing the state thousands of dollars more each year.

McKenna's budget plan would slash home care services for seniors and people with disabilities. (We have seen how he feels about health care!)

Jay Inslee is opposed to further cuts, supports training for caregivers and he pushed federal legislation to help seniors and those with disabilities live in their home.

The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin should be ashamed that it endorsed McKenna. It should be supporting our seniors. For me, I will vote for Jay Inslee!
