CARSON, Calif. — Mike Magee scored from a Robbie Keane pass in the 83rd minute as the Los Angeles Galaxy hurt Seattle’s playoff position with a 1-0 victory over the Sounders in the Major League Soccer regular-season finale.

The Galaxy got a late goal from a veteran substitute to win a game with much more importance for Seattle.

Los Angeles had already clinched fourth place in the Western Conference and will host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday in a one-game knockout playoff for the right to face top-seeded San Jose in the conference semifinals.

The loss left Seattle in third place in the West with 56 points, allowing Real Salt Lake to finish second with 57 points.
