I had the opportunity as Walla Walla County sheriff to work with Perry Dozier the first two years of his tenure as a county commissioner.
During that time I found Perry to be a very enthusiastic and caring individual while serving in his position as a county commissioner. He hit the ground running by going to each office to learn what the functions were of each within the county. He listened to concerns that each office had, which is a very instrumental part of his job.
I also found Perry truly cares for the citizens of Walla Walla County, and no doubt takes to heart their best interests at all times.
During the budget process, Perry had a very open mind and listened to each elected officials’ presentation and requests. Even though we did not always agree, I have to say he was more than fair and was very easy to communicate with.
This was no easy job because we all want more. But just like at home, one must do the best we can with what we have. He, once again, had the best interests of the citizens of the county by keeping the emergency reserves intact.
Recently we all learned why it is important to have such reserves in place. Perry knows how to work with and within budget restraints not only on the county level, but personally as well.
I cannot say the same for his opponent.
Over the time I spent working with Commissioner Dozier, I found him to be an honest person, a man with high integrity and a man of his word.
Perry is someone I trust to do the best job possible. He is a full-time commissioner, and I truly believe he will continue to serve the citizens of Walla Walla County in the same manner he has been. Therefore I urge you to retain and vote for Perry Dozier, county commissioner. He will serve us all much better.
