133rd Wash. Army National Guard Band to play in Walla Walla


WALLA WALLA — The 133rd Washington Army National Guard Band will be in town Nov. 10-11 to honor veterans and share in Veterans Day activities with free performances.

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at VFW Post 992, The General’s 7 Dixie Band and the Jazz Patriots Big Band will take center stage to share a few Louisiana Dixieland classics and the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Carter and Ray Charles.

At 11 a.m. Nov. 11 the 133rd’s Marching and Ceremonial Band will be a part of the Downtown Walla Walla Veterans Day parade.

A short post-parade concert featuring standard marches will take place at the intersection of First Avenue and Main Street.

From 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 the 133rd’s Patriot Brass and Wind Ensembles will feature patriotic-themed selections and marches at the Walla Walla Community College Performing Arts Center.

The 133rd Army Band is a diverse group of soldier-musicians. It is located at Camp Murray, Wash., and commanded by CW2 Pierson.
