WALLA WALLA — DeSales’ Ryan Baumgart is among the scholar-athlete finalists for the 2012 Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.
Of the 45,000 high school seniors who applied nationwide, 617 applicants came from Washington and have been narrowed to the state’s 20 finalists.
Next Monday, one male and one female finalist from each state will be named state finalist. Of those, 12 will be chosen as national finalist and will compete for the national title in New York City on Dec. 7.
