Kennel Club's Dog Fest will be on Sunday

COLLEGE PLACE — The Walla Walla Kennel Club will host its third annual Dog Fest at College Place Lions Park, Eighth Street and Larch Avenue, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

People and their leashed dogs will participate in games, a costume contest and skill activities.

The Walla Walla Kennel Club is 72 years old. It sponsors the event in conjunction with the American Kennel Club’s Responsible Dog Ownership Month. The club’s goal is to educate dog owners about the welfare and responsibility owed to pets.

There will be a booth with information about the club and several AKC certifications.

Interesting and informative demonstrations and presentations will be made. Booths will be set up to meet and learn more about specific dog breeds.

The Blue Mountain Humane Society will offer micro-chipping at a reduced price.

Several pet-related businesses will be present, as well as rescue groups, trainers, a pet acupuncturist and a pet psychic.
