Brewer Troy Robinson has been working on new batches of beer, including an old favorite and a new blend for the downtown pub, 11 S. Palouse St.
New to the brewpub is “Probation Pilsner,” a light and crisp blend of flavors from the German Pilsner malt and American hops.
Back on during the summer has been Brew22, a favorite made this time with a twist. In an announcement on the beers, Robinson said he’s using a more traditional lager yeast for this beer. Lagers ferment more slowly than the other basic kind of yeast — ale. The result is a crisper, cleaner flavor typical of popular German and American beer, he said.
The two are offered along with the brewpub’s Walla Walla Wheat and Wildwood IPA. Others lagers in the series coming up next: Oktoberfest, which is expected to be on tap mid-September; and Winter Bock, expected to be available in December.
