Like so many other people, I am tired of people sucking up government checks and not earning them. Take, for example, Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
In the past four years we have paid her $688,000 in salary and God only knows how much in benefits. And what have we gotten for our money?
It was more important for her to stand behind John Boehner and show support than it was for her to pass an unemployment extension bill that many of her constituents needed to support their families. She thought it was more important to stand behind Todd “legitimate rape” Akin showing support than it was to vote on an anti-rape or anti-violence against women act.
She says our election is all about the economy and jobs yet she voted to block a small business jobs bill, a bill that would give tax breaks to companies that would provide jobs on American soil, any kind of jobs bill, and every economic recovery bill that was proposed.
She said she supports our troops yet she votes against a homeless veterans benefits bill.
For the last four years her agenda has not been that of those in Eastern Washington. Our infrastructure is crumbling, our economy is in the tank and our Congress is broken.
I sincerely hope there are numerous debates, one in each of the 10 counties of her district, so she can explain why we should ever send her back to Washington, D.C.
It certainly seems to me that nobody should keep a job with only a 12 percent approval rating. Not you. Not me. Not Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
