HERMISTON — Mac-Hi’s girls finished fourth out of 11 teams and the boys were fifth here Saturday during the annual Runners Soul Cross Country Fest at Sandstone Middle School.
Josie Lonai was Mac-Hi’s top performer in the girls race. She was sixth overall .
“She looked strong for so early in the season,” Mac-Hi coach John Milleson said. “She had a good race.”
On the boys side, the Pioneers’ Jesus Saldana had a top 20 finish.
“It’s the first time we’ve started a season with a full girls team,” Milleson said.
The Pioneers next head to Union, Ore., for the annual Catherine Creek Scamper on Friday.
