WALLA WALLA — The Moms’ Network of Walla Walla and Melissa Davis, a local foods chef with Whitehouse-Crawford restaurant, will hold a class Sept. 18 on planning and implementing easy family meal times.
The free class will be held 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 323 S. Catherine St.
“I will discuss the basic staples of a pantry, how to organize and plan your weekly shopping and teach a hands-on cooking class with easy-to-make weeknight dinners,” Davis said.
Also, Emily Reeves, a Moms’ Network board member, will host a discussion on the importance of family meal time.
“One reason for the interest in family meal time is that research is showing that children and particularly teens that eat with their families are less likely to do drugs, suffer from depression or suffer from eating disorders,” Reeves said.
