Drive-by under investigation

WALLA WALLA — Walla Walla gang detectives are investigating a report of multiple shots being fired in the 300 block of West Chestnut street Sunday morning.

According to a Walla Walla Police Department press release, officers responded to a shots fired call at 1:30 a.m., Sunday, and found bullet casings on the ground. Officers closed Chestnut Street during the initial investigation, and recovered six, medium-caliber handgun casings, according to the press release.

There were no reports of injuries or damage from the gunfire, according to police, who are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting incident to call 509-527-1960.
