PASCO — Another day, another loss, this time to Pasco.
Still looking for their first win under first-year coach Don Hepker, the Blue Devils fell to the Pasco Bulldogs in five sets of Mid-Columbia Conference volleyball Thursday, 25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 23-25 and 15-12.
Going to five sets was an improvement for the Blue Devils (0-4), but did nothing to sate their thirst for a win.
“The good news is we’ve seen consistent improvement since we played Kennewick (Sept. 4),” Wa-Hi assistant Kim McDaniels said. “We’re nothing but happy about that, but obviously we’d like a win under our belt.
“What got us last night was nothing that Pasco did, it was our own forced errors, which was kind of frustrating,” McDaniels said.
Torri Crawford led the Blue Devils with nine kills and 12 digs. Maddy Doepker chipped in six kills of her own.
Kat Tohndavong dug out 16 balls.
Katie Green had 10 digs and set 21 assists.
Jaime Quaresma rounded out the Blue Devil leaders with 12 assists.
“We had the same record as Pasco (1-2 in league) and we expected a win tonight,” McDaniels said. “We just have to dig down and learn how to deal with those situations. If we’re down 5-to-10 points, we just have to come back and finish it.”
