MILTON-FREEWATER – Officials are releasing very little information about an apparent drive-by shooting that injured three people Monday morning in Milton-Freewater.

The shooting took place on North Elizabeth Street near Ninth Avenue at roughly 1:30 a.m. Two people were transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center with injuries.

According to Umatilla County District Attorney Daniel Primus, the Umatilla County Major Crimes Team is investigating the shooting, and the ages and sexes of the victims may be released today.

Primus would not say whether the victims were in a vehicle, on foot or in a building when they were shot by unknown suspects. No information about what type of weapon used was released.

“We’re not releasing that information,” Primus said, adding investigators are looking into whether the shooting was gang-related.

Primus did confirm multiple shots were fired. No suspects have been identified, according to Primus.
