Port Scandalous Brawl Stars defeat Sweets Roller Girls

PORT ANGELES, Wash. — The Walla Walla Sweets Roller Girls suffered a 357-99 defeat at the wheels of the Port Scandalous Brawl Stars here on Saturday night.

“It was very evident after the first couple of jams that the Sweets were up against a more seasoned and experienced team,” Walla Walla coach Barb (KrQQl-Aidz) Commare said.

The Brawl Stars put 60 points on the board before the Sweets scored any.

“Our girls skated hard and never gave up, kept their wits about them and had a positive attitude,” Commare said. “They did everything their captain, Kate (Moonshine) Moon had asked them to do. The Brawl Stars just had a few tricks up their sleeves that we were not prepared for at this time.”

“Whenever you lose to a better team, you walk away learning something and feel motivated to be better skaters,” said Sweets pivot for the Sweets Nikki (Nik-Yo-Face) Williams.

Walla Walla next hosts the Rolling Hills Derby Dames at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Walla Walla YMCA.
