WALLA WALLA — The Rees and Sumach Community Garden will have its annual Harvest Potluck on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Rees Avenue across from the garden. Friends, family members, prospective gardeners, and the general public are cordially invited to attend.

Three plots will be available in the community garden for the 2013 season beginning November 1. Each plot is 10 by 20 feet and includes the privilege of helping plant and harvest the garden’s common areas.

The garden was established in 2010 by the North Main Area Neighborhood Association on land leased from Whitman College. It contains 30 plots, surrounded by common areas containing raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, table grapes, peaches, plums, an herb garden and other crops tended and harvested in common by garden members. At least 10 percent of individual and common area harvest goes to area food banks.

For more information, including how to apply for a plot, go to www.reesandsumach.org.
