An upcoming presentation at Affinity of Walla Walla aims to build public trust in the electoral process.

The 55-plus lifestyle community will sponsor a free public forum Tuesday explaining how elections are managed in Walla Walla County.

“Why You Can Have Confidence in the Electoral Process” will address procedures the auditor’s office uses to ensure all ballots are tallied and what measures are taken to prevent election fraud. A question-and-answer session with Walla Walla County Auditor Karen Martin, Election Supervisor Debbie Benavides and Voter Registration Coordinator Dale Grogan will follow their presentation.

The event starts at 7 p.m. at the community, 1706 Fairway Drive behind the Plaza Safeway. It will take place in the first-floor multi-purpose room. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served. Brief tours of the apartment units, starting at 6:30 p.m., will also be available for those interested.
