KENNEWICK — Playing what Wa-Hi assistant coach Kim McDaniels called the best volleyball team in the Mid-Columbia Conference in Kamiakin, the Blue Devils fell in three sets here Thursday, 25-23, 25-15, 25-15.
On the bright side, Wa-Hi is coming into its own, McDaniels said.
“It was hands-down the best volleyball I’ve seen them play all year,” she said. “As a coach that’s great to see.
“Kamiakin is the best team in the league,” McDaniels said. “Everybody thought it was Richland, but they (the Braves) took Richland in three (sets). They (Kamiakin) didn’t expect us to be that good. Going forward, if we continue to play as we’ve been playing, we’re going to scare a lot of teams in the league.”
Torri Crawford led the Blue Devils with nine digs. Maddie Doepker picked up five kills, and Sierra Carmen had three kills and four service aces.
Next up, Wa-Hi (0-6) hosts Richland at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
