HELIX — The Helix Grizzlies didn’t come away with a win Thursday night against visiting Ione, but they did play competitive volleyball against the Cardinals before falling in three, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-12, in Helix’s first Big Sky League volleyball match of the year.
“In both of the close games, we had to make some big comebacks,” Helix coach Tammie Parker said. “We dug ourselves some pretty big holes, but we kept battling back. I was proud of the way the kids battled back and did make comebacks, we just have to learn how to not get in such a big hole to begin with.”
Helix (0-5, 0-1 in BSL play) competes in the non-league South Wasco Tournament Saturday.
