Improved Jaguars take three-set win from Dayton

PASCO — Dayton fell to Southeast 2B League foe Tri-Cities Prep in three volleyball sets here Thursday, 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

McKayla Bickelhaupt had nine kills, nine digs and was 9-for-9 serving for the Bulldogs.

Courtney Mings was 10-for-10 serving, Jessica Tate was eight assists, Lexi Ramirez five blocks and Sarah Phillips 10 digs.

“We need to be more consistent, get our offense going and play like a team,” Dayton coach Shannon Turner said. “Tri-Cities Prep is stronger this year than they have been. They were decent last year as well, we went to five sets to beat them last year.”

The Bulldogs, now 3-6, head to the Pomeroy Tournament Saturday, host DeSales Tuesday and look for some revenge on the Jaguars Thursday on the Dayton court.
