FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Whitman College couldn’t over come a first-half Pacific goal here Saturday in Northwest Conference women’s soccer action as the Boxers posted a 1-0 victory.
Pacific’s Dani McMurray fired a shot at Whitman goalie Emily Davis at the 28:18 mark of the first half. Davis got a piece but the shot deflected in and the Boxers had all they would need.
Whitman out shot the Boxers as the Missionaries fired 13 shots to Pacific’s 10, but Pacific got the one that counted.
Whitman put five shots on goal as Pamela London, Jaclyn Rudd, Lindsey Scott, Clara Merlino, and Marisa Poorboy had chances but Boxer keeper Brittany Hartmann stopped all five to post the shutout.
For Whitman, Davis stopped three shots, but McMurray’s stood up as Pacific improved to 2-1-1 in conference.
The Missionaries drop to 1-3-0 in NWC play and moves onto George Fox today for a noon match with the Bruins.
