Unity Church of Peace to hear ‘The Meaning of Judgment’

WALLA WALLA — Unity Church of Peace, 810 C. St., will present Martie Quistberg, at 10 a.m. today. Quistberg will speak on “The Meaning of Judgment” Refreshments will follow the service.

Interfaith Coalition on Poverty to meet Tuesday at YWCA

WALLA WALLA — The Interfaith Coalition on Poverty will hold its monthly from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the YWCA, 213 S. First Ave.

The agenda will focus on a report about the community discussion of a possible youth center for Walla Walla.

Also, Nov. 10-18 is National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week. Ideas for a local project will be addressed.

A light lunch will be available and ICP members typically contribute a few dollars to offset the cost. Email Susan Kralman at to be counted for lunch.

Annual See You at the Pole prayer is slated Wednesday

WALLA WALLA ­— See You at the Pole, a national Christian prayer event, will take place at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the flagpoles at area schools.

Also at 7 a.m., the congregation of New Beginnings Chapel invites adults to participate in prayer at the flagpole at the Land Title Plaza.

The Rev. Tim Bruner, pastor of New Beginnings, said, “We want to make a public statement and say, ‘our kids are gathering around the flagpoles at their schools, we as parents ought to be gathering around the flagpole in our city and praying for our nation, our students and our families.’”

Plans are to pray for a moral and spiritual awakening for the nation, Bruner said.

M-F First Christian Church to host ELEVATE Worship

MILTON-FREEWATER — First Christian Church of Milton-Freewater, 518 S. Main St., will host ELEVATE Worship at 6 p.m. Sept. 30. This is an evening of contemporary music in an environment for young families. Child care is available for ages 4 and under. Youth group will be at 7 p.m.

ELEVATE Worship is a ministry of Deeply Rooted Ministries.

M-F First Christian Church to offer child care for Date Night

MILTON-FREEWATER — First Christian Church of Milton-Freewater, 518, S. Main St., will hold Date Night for area parents from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 6.

The first Saturday of each month, the a team of qualified adults and teenagers will provide free child care for area parents at the church.
