TOUCHET — A train struck a trailer with two vehicles on it about 10 a.m. Monday, damaging the vehicles but causing no injuries.

The accident happened at the railroad crossing on Balm Street south of U.S. Highway 12. According to witnesses, the truck and trailer were crossing the track in front of the train, which was traveling about 25 mph, when the locomotive struck the trailer.

The vehicles, which were reportedly being taken to auction, were knocked off the trailer. A police report on the accident was not available today.

Wow! How about saying that the sheriff's department was not involved in an accident instead of posting a picture making it look like there was a huge accident involving a deputy. UB you need to get it together. Post the facts and don't leave it open for suggestion!

Hometown, can you read? The article clearly states that two vehicles that were damaged were being hauled on a trailer to an auction. Try reading the article instead of bad mouthing the paper for showing pictures of the news. Has it ever occurred to you that the photo is designed to get people to read that’s right I said READ the article.
