Bulldogs' quick start doesn't hold up against Asotin


DAYTON — Dayton’s quick start didn’t hold up as Asotin took a Southeast 2B volleyball matchup with the Bulldogs here Tuesday, 18-25, 17-25, 27-25, 25-11, 15-9.

“We started out stronger than we have all season,” Dayton coach Shannon Turner said. “We had a great first three games, but we weren’t consistent in the last two. We quit what we were doing before. We need to be more consistent.”

McKayla Bickelhaupt led the way for the Bulldogs with eight kills, 12 digs and she was 23-for-23 serving.

Jessica Tate had 13 assists and 13 digs for Dayton, Courtney Mings picked up five kills, nine digs and was 17-for-18 serving, Chelsea Wooldridge had 14 assists and was 16-for-16 serving, Lexie Ramirez knocked down nine kills, had two blocks and was 11-for-12 serving, Sarah Phillips recorded 12 digs, and

Madison Mings had five kills, five blocks and was 12-for-12 serving.

Dayton, now 0-2 in SE2B play, hosts Waitsburg-Prescott at 6 p.m. Thursday.
