PENDLETON (AP) — The Navy wants to expand military training at the Boardman Bombing Range.
An environmental analysis says options including using the range for drones, adding a machine gun range, demolition training and mortar pads.
The range is used by planes from the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station for low-altitude training as low as 200 feet.
The East Oregonian reports the airspace could be extended over the Umatilla Chemical Depot.
The public can comment on the environmental impact statement until Nov. 6.
