COLTON — Pomeroy’s volleyball team traveled to Colton Tuesday night, and went home with a three-set loss, 25-16, 25-16, 25-18.

“We’ve played better,” Pirates coach Bruce Crossfield said. “We showed some grit in set two. We got down 17-1 and came back to close it to 23-16.

“Set three seemed closer than the score indicated, it was tied at 17-17,” he said. “But we had too many missed serves to compete against a good team like Colton.”

On Saturday, Pomeroy competed at the Border Battle, going 0-3 against Prairie, 3-0 versus Orofino, 1-2 against Kamiah, 0-3 against Genesee and 1-2 versus Troy.

Idaho won the Border Battle, 48-27.

Pomeroy, now 3-7 overall and 0-1 in Southeast 1B play, head to St. John-Endicott on Tuesday.
