DIXIE — The Dixie School has been awarded an educational grant of $1,700 by the Captain Planet Foundation. The funds will be used to clean up and landscape a corner of the school grounds.
Students will begin doing the work Friday, starting at 1:30 p.m. The area will be used by students and their families for picnics and viewing sporting activities.
The Captain Planet Foundation is an international environmental education group created to support hands-on projects for youth.
