PASCO — Waitsburg-Prescott’s Seth Deal finished second in a field of 120 male runners here Saturday during the Pasco Bulldog Invitational cross country meet at Big Cross.
Deal finished the 5,000-meter race with a mark of 16 minutes, 29.1 seconds.
Kamiakin’s Austin Oser won the boys race with a time of 16:18.1.
“Seth had a tremendous day,” W-P coach Joanna Lanning said. “It was very hot and humid for the 1:30 p.m. race on a tough course.
“Seth also gives 100 percent,” Lanning said. “He’s a coach’s dream.
“The boys’ team has some work to do and I’m hopeful two of our boys that didn’t run this week will be back in the near future,” Lanning said.
