WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Joint Community Development Agency offices will be closed starting Friday for training to implement new software.
The offices, in the city of Walla Walla Service Center on Moore Street, will reopen April 11. Limited building inspections will be offered during the closure when inspectors are not in training.
Tom Glover, agency executive director, said new software will bring Walla Walla County’s and the city’s building, land use, code compliance tracking processes into a single program, one of the agency’s goals when it was formed in 2010.
When the office reopens on April 11, it will also have a new website featuring the eTRAKitT system. The new website will look similar to the agency’s current site but will have additional features and be available to both city and county customers.
The new site will accept some permit and project applications online, as well as some online payments. Although customers will still be required to submit their phone inspection requests by 3:30 p.m. the day before the inspection, with the new site customers will be able to use eTRAKiT to request and cancel inspections up until 6 a.m. on the day of the inspection, Glover said in a release.
