WALLA WALLA — Police are investigating a 16-year-old boy’s report that he was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.
The teen told police he was walking on Birch Street between 12th and 15th avenues at about 9 p.m. when a young male driving a dark-colored Honda car stopped and got out of the vehicle.
The male, reportedly also in his mid-teens, was wearing a ski-mask-like face covering and carried a gun, according to police.
“It was a long weapon rather than a pistol,” said Sgt. Mat Wood of the Walla Walla Police Department, adding the victim was unable to tell if the gun was a rifle or shotgun.
According to early reports, the person may have stolen a cell phone. It was unclear this morning whether other items were taken.
